2018 LOOKING AHEAD – I have to admit, I am a scrooge when it comes to Christmas.
In my research of things, I don’t see it as having anything to do with Christ; neither Christ nor the disciples even hinted at such a celebration.
Having said this, I love how it uplifts the spirit of the family and the extra effort put into being kind, loving, and joyful….my six grown children and four grandkids even extend their joyful toleration to this ol’ scrooge.
The New Year’s celebration is perhaps my favorite “holiday” of the year and is often a bitter sweet time for many family members, who again, extend their toleration to this ol’ Christmas Scrooge. Moving from the last few minutes of the old year, into the New Year, has, for as long as I can remember, been the time to pray out the old year and pray in the new. It is bitter sweet because some would rather do the praying either before or after the traditional whooping and hollering. Instead, we would be on our knees during the crucial moments of transition from the old to the new.
It certainly is a sign of the times that few Christians get together like they use to, to celebrate the coming New Year on their knees, preferring to celebrate after the traditions of the world. Yet we have been warned that in our days God’s people will be “lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God” (2 Tim. 3:4). It only takes a casual look around to see the truth of this Scripture.
The signs of our times are all around us with the daily hearing of wars and rumors of wars, conflicts fought on many fronts, illness and disease running rampant making health care big business and a political platform, earthquakes and natural disasters happening with great force and in places that has never taken place in my 64 years of traveling through life.
These events of the last of the last days, called the “beginning of sorrows” by Jesus in Matthew 24:7-8, are definitely taking place in our generation. These events will continue to increase in frequency and intensity throughout 2018. Really, there is no stopping them. There is no real preparation for them. If there were, they would not be escalating and causing the havoc that they do.
I am simple enough in my faith to understand that these events do not take place through the natural course of “mother nature,” but by the hand of Father God who utilizes His creation to show His mercy, to wake us up to help us to return to focusing on Him.
There have been three major movements, in 2017, which gained momentum to move us toward earth’s last seven years. First, have you noticed how the credit card chip is now the standard; retailers are putting in self-checkouts; cryptocurrencies (digital currency) are becoming more mainstream; more companies are using the chip for payroll; entire countries have gone mostly cashless; and cash continues to be looked upon as the bad guy. The infrastructure for the infamous mark of the beast has certainly made great strides, so great that we could wake up any day and find out that our cash under the mattress and gold buried in the fields no longer has any value.
Now that the snowball is rolling down the hill, you can expect greater advancements, at greater speed, in establishing the cashless world in 2018. Pay attention to how our movement out of cash will make greater strides in 2018.
A second movement that gained momentum in 2017 was the setting in place of what is often seen as a world government; is referred to as the New World Order; and is recorded in Scripture as the realignment of all nations into ten economic/political regions. This develops hand-in-hand with the cashless economy. Do an internet search on what is called the “ID2020 Alliance” or go to their website at id2020.org and realize how close we are to having the infrastructure for the New World Order and the cashless economy in place.
According to THE PROPHETIC TIMELINE we know the New World Order must be in place before the Antichrist is in power. After he arrives, he will mandate the global cashless economy. In the meantime there will be strong encouragement for people and companies to get onboard, but will not be mandated until the Antichrist is in power.
Now that the snowball is rolling down the hill, you can expect greater advancements, at greater speed, in establishing the New World Order in 2018. Continue to pay attention to how world and national leaders uses variations of the term, New World Order.
A third movement that gained momentum in 2017 was the setting in motion by President Trump the discussion on establishing peace in Israel by recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moving the Embassy of the United States to Jerusalem.
Momentum toward this direction will not produce peace, but more conflict and more tension between the United States and the majority of the world. I say this because there will be no true peace for Israel until their Messiah, our Jesus, returns to give them peace. In the meantime, the only peace they will have in our present time is three and a half years of peace that will be negotiated by the Antichrist with a seven year treaty, and then broken three and a half years later to unleash hell on earth…which is what Scripture calls the Great Tribulation.
Now that the snowball is rolling down the hill, you can expect greater troubles with Israel, with the United States, and with the overall stability of the world. It is this chaos which will set the environment needed for ushering in a new order of the nations.
There are two things guaranteed in this world: increasing troubles and death. The good news is, Jesus encourages us to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (Joh. 16:33).
The peace Jesus speaks of is not the kind of peace the world gives. The world’s peace is when your life is free of troubles and hardship; the peace Jesus gives is when your life is overwhelmed with hardship, but you have peace within. Jesus tells us in John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Let us learn to find this peace before the hardships become almost unbearable.
Do you know the peace that Jesus gives through the Holy Spirit? Do you know Jesus? Have you received the Holy Spirit?
This ends this fourth post. Now let me consider what direction to go for my next post.
Until next time, the time is near…be prepared.
